The Vanished Lebanese Dream

We had this dream to grow as high as a tree,
to be something every eye could see.
So we let our roots to let us be;
glory was what we wanted to seek,
but, how can one be happy while climbing to the peak?
We just felt hopeless, desperate and weak.

We met a people who fought for the Madonna,
they were sure with their sect they’d reach nirvana!

We thought no one could defy our sage.
it’s now time to break out of the cage;
to build a new stage and open another page.
Yet,how can we continue our dream with broken feet?

So we found ourselves a seat
hoping our tears won’t cool out our heat.
Okay! We can forget about Our Lebanon
without letting them have our share:
that is poking them to be more fair.

Now, I keep wondering if we can reach our goal
with this handicapped soul...
Must we learn how to crawl?

Damn you Mr. Chair,
you have left us too blind to bare!
